I made an oath of conquest paladin/domain of death cleric for a party of villains in my friends campaign. This character is currently 7 paladin and 5 cleric yet when I open my spells list I have two 4th level spell slots. If I open the spell manager to prepare spells though there are no options for 4th level spells to prepare. Is this some sort of glitch or is there something that I'm missing?
I read that section but I'm trying to understand how it's determined. The article says to add all of my cleric spell slots, which is 9, plus my levels in paladin in half rounded down, which is 3. this makes 12

Basically it counts like this, you're a lvl 5 spellcaster from cleric and the 7 levels of paladin (half caster) gives 3.5 levels rounded down to 3. So 5 (cleric) + 3 (paladin) = 8.
An 8th level spellcaster gets 2 level 4 slots. You get the slots, you just don't know any spells of that level since you're not high enough in any class for that.
So, you could cast a level 1 spell like healing word and use the 4th level slot to upcast it. Or use them for a smite.
Edit: It's spellcaster levels, not slots, just to be clear.
Full casters add a full level, half casters add a half level. So the same would be true for a druid 5/ranger 7 too. Hope it helps!

wait how does that work? whats the equation to determine the full caster level?
