I can't make characters

Whenever I try to make a character it gives me this (copied directly):

Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our Authentication check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs.

Try again after a Short Rest.

Error Code

Has my account be compromised or does it just mean the character builder isn't currently available?

I need some help with what's going on.

Have you tried logging out, then back in again? Or maybe clearing your cache/cookies? It could be that the browser isn't telling the site that you're logged in correctly (which it needs to do to pull up owned content)
