So I am having trouble with a homebrew subclass I am inputting into DDB for one of my warlocks. I have two options on one of the first level features, both are spells I have made (one is eldritch blast but with the option of using fire damage, the other is a summoned fire blade).
My problem is that when I test it in character creator, if I select the eldritch blast one (Fiery Blast) it shows it in actions, if I select the other one (Fiery Blade) it will not unless I go in to the spells list and click it as a learned spell.
I have looked through other threads and can't seem to find a fix on this and have poured through the edit sections of the fiery blade spell to try and make it work with no luck, anything would help!
P.S. I can't make it a shared content because Fiery blast is too close in content to eldritch blast (duh, its just an option to make it fire damage). So I am unsure if I can send a link if anyone were to request it.
Hello Kevallarist! In the section where you are adding the "Fiery Blade" spell you have no spell entered in "Spell", instead you are providing a choice of any Warlock cantrip based on how that spell entry is set up. If you set that first field to "Fiery Blade" you should see the cantrip appear on your list as intended.
If you continue to face issues I would also recommend posting the links to your unpublished cantrips for the most accurate assistance.

This is a bit confusing, I don't see where you are speaking about. anywhere I see that I can add a spell I have added it. At the same time I haven't added Fiery Blast to the spells list under "Blessing of the Phoenix" and yet it still shows up in the actions for the character when it is chosen as the option. If I do add Fiery Blast to that section under Blessing of the Phoenix it will add it to the actions no matter what option I choose.

I think I figured out a work around, if not a fix. I just added the spell as an action to the option. Even though I didn't have to do this for Fiery Blast (but I did just copy the eldritch blast spell and change the name and damage type, so that could be why). It seems to work for me, adds the spell when I pick that option and takes it away when I change it to the other option.
I appreciate your help, MellieDM. Let me know if this is what you were trying to tell me, if so then perfect! If not then is this the "wrong" way to go about the fix?
Thank you for those extra links! Your "Fiery Blade" spell does not have an attack type set (Melee/Ranged) so it would not appear as an Attack on your character sheet. However, as you've discovered, you can mark it to "Display as Attack" at your option.
What I described above was actually my bad, apologies for the confusion. I wasn't able to see the spell entry in there due to the homebrew nature, which I didn't realize right away!

Post the link of the unpublished homebrew (you can post the link).

Did that work?
Probably. Only mods can look at unpublished homebrew. Now we wait.
Gotcha, I appreciate the help!
