I am multiclassing 4 lvls arcane trickster and 4 levels of eldritch knight. This should net me the same as 8 levels in either arcane trickster or eldritch knight since they both should stack as 1/3rd spell caster levels rounded up (4 level 1 Spell slots, 2 level 2 spell slots). However, I am only given 3 level spell slots as though i only had 4 levels in a single 1/3 spell castor class. The bug is that it's not rounding the 1/3 spellcastors up and is instead rounding down. Can we get this fixed?
This is actually correct. Multiclassing in this way, you're counted as an AT 4*(1/3) + EK 4*(1/3) = 4/3 + 4/3. Since you round down, this becomes 1 + 1, so you're a 2nd-level spellcaster (according to the multiclassing table), and therefore have 3 1st-level spell slots.
You supposed to round down. You are not a level 8 AT/EK, you are a multiclassed level 8 character with 2 spellcasting levels in accordance with the multiclass rules.

Partway through the quest for absolute truth.
