It seems like it would be fairly easy to add characters to a campaign. Right now if you create one in a campain you can drop them but not add them which seems odd.

If you go to the campaign join link you will be given three options:
Make a new character in that campaign (assuming you've got available character slots)
Join with an existing character you've made (assuming you've made one)
Claim an unassigned character within that campaign (assuming there is one)
It seems like option 2 is what you're asking about?

You can use the invite link to add characters.
Though I and others agree, there should just be a button for it.
