This is a super annoying 'feature' of the site. I can't link to anything outside of Google services without getting a stupid link warning. It's reducing the ultimate functionality of the site for... what, exactly? These are links inside my campaign so who, exactly, are they saving my players from? Me? Too late. All it effectively does is mean more clicks for my players making the campaign page even more useless than it already is.

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
I'm pretty sure the link warning exists to prevent malicious actors from redirecting to an external site without warning. For example, you wouldn't want someone to click a link that says it's a magic item and be taken to a fake marketplace page prompting the user to buy something, only to have their financial details stolen.
Worse, you don't want people to be able to click through to external sites that might be inappropriate without some kind of warning that you're leaving DDB.
It's frustrating, totally; I've got a few homebrew items that I link together with long form links that throw the warning. But it's probably for the best they use a robust solution with no option to disable, otherwise it'd render it a bit moot in terms of protective measures.
I wish the linkout warning would warn me when people post download links to WotC PDFs instead of article links. I hate it when someone posts: "I'm talking about this." And now I've downloaded a PDF (usually that I already have) without warning.
