"Call me your boss" ... Ok no, but, i think it will be better for all of us to fix that, and make it more consistent. I showed that picture to my brother and it really confused him. Not all of us read all the manuals and others are just players. Better information or clear and clean descriptions make the community bigger and strogger. That's all. I don't know if i made my point.
Levistus tiefling isnt even available for purchase right now could be they've disable it for now until fixed perhaps. One of my players has that race and the only place i can create a character with it is in our campaign searching for it and click top result from mtof brings to regular Tiefling. Something buggy is happening. Edit: I looked in the race section of purchases instead of subrace so its there but apparently some of the stat increases are not applying or are wrong or something.
Just posting here to say that yes, this is a major annoyance when creating a new Tiefling character, and is pretty confusing. It took me a lot of clicking around to realize that the descriptions aren't correct, and to figure out which one actually applies. For others reading this, the description at the top of the subrace is incorrect; to see what is actually used, scroll down to the ability description. That one appears to be correct.
It would be great if the devs could update the creator so that the description of the Tiefling base stats will show the correct stats for the chosen subrace. As is, this is very confusing:
Some pics of the Tiefling subrace descriptions when creating a character:
Tiefling has a a basic Racial Trait of +2 CHA +1 Int
Fierna has +2 Cha +1Wis, but the text on top section doesnt match the section of Ability Score Increase
Dispater/Glasya has +2 Cha +1Dex and doesnt match as well.
Levistus has +2Cha +1Con and text doesnt match top to Ability Score increase section
There is no bug in here. Those tiefling races, being variants, replace the ability score increase of the base race.
Yeah, this maybe confused some new players. If there's a chance to fix this, plz let us know.
We know that it's okey when you build a character, but the text or description doen't match with that.
}
Here, in this image, you can see that on the top says
"FIERNA TIEFLING"
Racial Traits: +2 Cha +1 Int
But in the bottom says "Ability Score Increase: +2 Cha, +1 Wis"
So, in other words, it really can confuse some players, it doen's match.
but then the variant ones that do have +2cha +1int should not have this section as it's not modified.Mephistopheles Tiefling which is ok.
For consistency, the ability score increase for the Mephistopheles variant is kept there as well.

Lound and clear.
I do not have the 'power' to fix that, but the devs are going to update the builder at some point.
