I am unsure why the 3 and 5 critter bundles are showing up as $1.99. I already own all the content unless there is something exclusive to the bundles. If so, for the life of me I can't figure out what it is from the descriptions. Is this an error?
There have been a few reports about these (that I'm sure you can find with minimal effort). There is nothing exclusive in the bundles, it is a mistake caused by their owned content discount algorithm. I think they should be working to fix it for those of us that have nothing to gain.
I think I have found what is causing this to show up... I have purchased the Monster Manual as well as most of the other books, but for some reason as new monsters are added to the Monster Manual, things like (in my case)"Diseased Giant Rat", "Swarm of Insects (Beetles)", "Swarm of Insects (Centipedes)", and "Swarm of Insects (Wasps)" are showing as unpurchased even though the book shows as "Content Unlocked". Since each of these is $1.99, it adds that cost to the bundle cost as well as any other unpurchased content.

That is not the reason. That is a different price display glitch that was caused by variant monsters being added into the system after your purchase.
But they don't contribute to the way bundles are priced. The bundles take the normal total cost of the content and apply a discount, then subtract any amount of money you have already spent on purchasing that content. If you are buying content using coupon codes, the amount subtracted will be less than the cost of the books.
I think the coupons that gave a flat value reduction instead of a % based discount further messed up the purchase credit system too.

Hello zer0prototype! The team is aware of a display issue with these bundles for users who own all of the content. Thank you very much for the report!
