So I am putting together a character and I am planning on being a battle master. I took the human variant for my race and choose the feat martial adept. One thing I noticed is, at level 4 for example, that battle master and martial adept don’t seem to merge even though the feat says it gets added to your other sources. I only have 4 superiority dice to use plus the 1 use from the feat. The confusion is these are all on different pages.
It seems to be a small bug because the feat says it is added to any superiority dice you have from other sources.
The next part is the feat labels the dice as a d6. Does this change as I would level with the battle master ability?
I believe if you're a Battle Master that yes - the Feat dice counts as one of your Battle Master Superiority Dice and scales with them - however DNDBeyond can't really show that because Feat's can't interact with other features due to the limitations of DNDBeyond.
"You gain one superiority die, which is a d6 (this die is added to any superiority dice you have from another source)." (Martial Adept)
"You have four superiority dice, which are d8s." (Battle Master, Combat Superiority)
The superiority die you gain from the feat is just added to your pool of superiority dice you eventually have from antoher source like the battle master. It always remains a d6.
The superiority dice you gain from choosing the battle master are d8s when you gain 3rd level as a fighter. These superiority dice will advance by gaining levels as a fighter with the battle master archetype.

I figured it was something along those lines when looking over the character sheet.
Thank you for your quick response.
