At 5th level, I should have 2 level 3 spell slots available, with the 2 known from my Circle of the Land feature "always prepared" and not counting against this number. Currently I'm unable to prepare 3rd level spells, even though the 2 from my circle feature are added and show "always prepared".
The feature is working correctly for level 3 (I have 2 bonus spells that count as "always prepared" and allow me to still prepare my 3 2nd level spells).
As far I can see, the druid is working fine at 5th level. The number of spell slots is not the same thing as the number of spells prepared. The number of spells you can prepare is equal to WIS modifier + druid level. Check this number against the number of spells you have already prepared.
I have reached Level 3 and I have chosen Druid Circle of Forest but I am unsure of how to add Spider Climb and Barkskin so that it doesn't take up a spell slot... Is there an option to select the Forest Circle? When I try to manage spells, Spider Climb doesn't even show up?
1. this thread is from 2017, so it's super old and Thread Necromancy is frowned upon. It would've been better to make your own thread.
2. To your question: There is no Circle of the Forest, what you want is Circle of the Land(Forest). And then it will ad the circle spells automatically to your prepared spells once you reach the appropiate level, you don't need to select them yourself.

Aha, that's it! I didn't realize it was total number of spells at a given level, got it.
