I've tested this multiple times with different magic items and on different characters. An example of what keeps happening is: I take a character with let's say 13 AC. And let's say I try to give them something like Studded Leather + 3. I do, and there AC automatically goes to 18, like it's supposed to. The issue is, as soon as you click off the character sheet, the item stops getting treated as magic. Suddenly, that character's AC becomes 15 on a refresh, as if it were standard Studden Leather. And even if you unequip the item and then re-equip it, that doesn't fix the problem. All that works is removing the item entirely and readding it, but after doing that, you get the same problem upon a refresh. I thought the issue might be cookies, but I deleted mine and tried to do this process on a different device and still got the same results.
How is the character getting AC 13, if it is from say Mage Armor, that doesn't stack with Studded Leather you can only have 1 AC calculation on a character.
I've read similar reports (haven't tested anything myself). Some of those resolved themselves after closing and reopening the character.
As for how the math works for those not keeping up: base is 10+3 (dex), studded +3 should be 12+3 (dex)+3 (magic) for 18, but after refresh becomes 12+ 3 (dex) having lost the magic. It tracks.

EDIT:
Can you Link said character
This is just an example. In this case, the character's AC would be equal to 10 + 3 from their Dex modifier. No other calculations are involved.
is there any homebrewed items or feats the character is using has?
No homebrewed items or feats. I was able to replicate the issue on completely fresh characters.
