Some stats of the steel defender are supposed to change with your proficiency bonus. Some work like HP and its skills. The others don't change and there is no way to manually change the values, saving throws, attack and damage bonus and its repair action. Please fix!

Currently this is a limitation with our system - it's not able to actively support the changes you mentioned. While we intend to fully support it in the future, for right now its recommended that you track its skills manually and at level 15, switch over to using [Tooltip Not Found].
