We are two months out from the launch of the new PHB. Every day they are publishing articles about the changes that are coming in the books, but there has been ZERO revealed about how this will all be handled in DnD Beyond! Will character creation default to 2024 rules? Will we be able to mix 2024 classes with 2014 subclasses? Are 2014 subclasses just dead in 2024 games now? Will we be able to toggle between 2014 and 2024 rules?
They are pushing the 2024 5e update so hard, but ignoring the fact that a LOT of people will be persuaded to stay or change based on how it is presented in DnD Beyond!
I would most likely not play D&D without D&D Beyond; it's a vital tool for me. I need this information to plan ahead for future games and decide whether I should be buying the new books.
The more time that passes without this information, the more I worry that D&D Beyond will be a mess on launch day.

No matter how much they announce, I expect DDB to be a mess on launch day. Tech transitions like this rarely run smooth, and whether they're patching the new mechanisms into the existing back-end, or replacing the existing back-end with a new one and converting everything over, that's the sort of thing where you just can't ever do enough testing. (Especially when the preexisting back-end is... not great.) Things will break at first.

Seconded.
