AC not updating when upgrading armor

Hello! I've got a Ranger that is wearing Studded Leather with AC16 (AC12 plus +4 modifier for DEX) and when I upgrade to Scale Mail (AC14) my character's AC doesn't update. It stays at 16 instead of becoming 18. Am I missing something?

Okay never mind. Read the rules and I see that Medium Armor only allows a maximum of +2 from your Dex modifier.
