My son is playing a custom race character in our campaign, but his skill modifiers seem to be way to high. I can not find anything on his sheet that explains it. His character is https://ddb.ac/characters/85507275/I4vEUL .
It looks to me like his homebrew race is incorrectly put together. Ask in the homebrew forums about help in getting it set up correctly. If there's an existing race that's very close (like an elf or something) then you can use that as a template to start with to get most of it set up.
I'm guessing a racial modifier meant to give a +4 bonus to certain ability checks (let's guess Wisdom for now) has been incorrectly coded as Bonus - Ability Checks, Ability Score: WIS , fixed value: 4. It should be changed to Bonus - Wisdom Ability Checks, fixed value: 4 instead. Of course, if you weren't doing Wisdom, use that ability score instead.
