So it appears Im terrible at direction. I've tried and it's either coming up with a broken image icon or nothing at all.

Remember you have to put the direct link to the image in the source - not a link to any container site. So the link must end in .png or .jpg or whatever.

You need to host it somewhere else and link to it. Most people use imgur but there are other places of course.

Yea - put the direct link to the image itself into the 'source' box when you click the 'insert/edit image' button in the reply editor.
