The CB's racial options when using the Basic Rules filter are exactly the same as the ones for Players Handbook. Basic should only include the big four: Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Human, with two options each. Having a simplified option with just the "LotR" races would be useful for new players who might think "Aasimar? Dragonborn? What is this crazy stuff?" and get scared away.
Or just remove Basic from the UI so it doesn't clutter the list with a false choice.
p.s. Aasimar and Eladrin are actually from the DMG, so both of those filters are labeled wrong. It should say "Core Rules".
