As mentioned above when creating a custom background, 2 skills 2 tools the proficiencies are not showing on the character sheet.
I've also had this problem for a few weeks. Custom background proficiencies often don't show up. At some random point within a few hours they do (refreshing page doesn't help) and seem to stick around.
It's a caching issue that crops up between your browser and the server. Usually leaving it 20 minutes will put them back in sync.
