I have a Master subscription and one of the players in my campaign owns the PHB. I can see the PHB content in the Compendium, but I still can't select more than the SRD Feats for the Variant Human's starting Feat when building a character on my end. That doesn't seem to be the intended result.

To unlock the shared content in the builder, your character has to be in the campaign.
This super sucks. I own the physical books (2 PHBs even) and can't use the all the feats. D&D Beyond seems to be great for people who haven't played before but if you already own the material is eye gouging.
I'll admit that I'm reluctant to repurchase all the material again, but I was fortunate in that I only owned the PHB and Curse of Strahd, and I had no problem buying digital for the latter. Turns out that it was so damn convenient for me while running the game that I feel significantly less reticent to repurchase the PHB.
But, yeah -- it's a bit of a pain if you already made those investments.

While trying to create a variant Human character I was limited to only 2 feats : svirfneblin Magic and Grappler.
Known problem. Until the paid subscriptions start, only the SRD feat Grappler and the EE feat Svirfneblin Magic are available.
ok, Thank you
Paid for hero tier and still only two feats available.
Unless you have paid for the PHB or access to feats from source books, you only have access to the SRD feats (those two).

D'oh! I did not put two and two together on that one, but it makes perfect sense in retrospect. Thanks!
