I'm trying to create some magic items for my campaign and I'm not able to get certain spells to show up when trying to add them. These seem to mostly be spells from XGtE along with Hunter's Mark. I have access to XGtE through a player in my campaign as well as the Player's Handbook. Do I need to purchase these books (or spells) in order to use them in Homebrew items? It just seems odd since I can still use other spells which I don't believe show up in the SRD.

when you yourself are making homebrew, you can only use things that you have purchased on your account. If you have the player's handbook, you'll have plenty of spells that aren't SRD, plus whatever is in the Elemental Evil Player's Companion since that is also free.

Thanks for the reply. I figured that might be the case, but wasn't sure.
