When attempting to make a homebrew race with a trait to choose from a limited selection of skills, specifically the a trait similar to the Hunter's Lore trait of the Lizardfolk, I came up against a wall. When attempting to make a variant race of a race I created from scratch, the proficiency modifier selection process does not give me the option to "Choose a Lizardfolk skill" as it does when making a core race "based" on a Lizardfolk. Now admittedly I could just create a whole separate race using the COPY_of_Lizardfolk base and just alter or delete everything else associated with the COPY but I'm hoping that a fix can be made or there's a work around I'm missing.
Before you ask I have all the sourcebooks purchased so the option is there but just not available. I've also tried to create a whole new race from scratch and the option is still not available. Is there is help I can get.
Also it should be noted that the issue also applies to the "Choose a Kenku skill" ... it also is not available as an option for races created from scratch. IDK about any other races but those are the ones I've found so far.
