The Bad News firearm is missing the ammunition property despite saying in its description that it requires ammo. This oversight makes it so that the Artificer's RepeatingShot infusion is unable to be applied to it, despite meeting the requirements for the infusion and being able to be applied to the other firearms added along with Bad News.
This is a small oversight, albeit a rather significant issue for the Artificer class, as they are proficient with firearms if the DM allows them into the game. Without having access to the Extra Attack feature to reload without having the Battle Smith subclass, being able to infuse their firearms with Repeating Shot is integral to their ability to output non-spell-based damage.
This is how Matt Mercer designed all his firearms for the gunslinger subclass, which D&D Beyond represents accurately. Unless Matt changes the design of the firearms, they'll remain this way.
