berzerker doesnt cap out at lvl 10, and it turns to 4 dice, it mvoes with barbarian rage and that doesnt cap at lvl 10
You are right, its worse than I thought, I was looking at the weapon mastery column, it doesn't get 4 dice until level 16. You have to go from 9 to 16 to get one more die of damage on a single attack.
What about a barbarian lvl 5 with extra attack, master shortsword(vex) and master scimitar(nick). Would you have 4 attacks? 2 with shortsword(1 normal attack and 1 extra), 1 with the scimitar also as an attack(Nick) and 1 with the scimitar as a bonus action since Nick can be used once per turn. For a total of 4.

In this example you have three attacks: two from having Extra Attack and one from the Light property.
The latter is normally a bonus action, but the Nick weapon mastery allows you to make it as part of your Attack action instead. The Light attack can only be made once per turn, so you can make it as part of your Attack action or as a bonus action, but not both on the same turn.
Traditionally, you're not locked into attacks with the same weapon in the attack action. You could, if you wanted, with a multi-attack character use the shortsword for the first attack, and the scimitar for the second attack. It's rarely done, but with masteries you might want to, and the interaction becomes relevant for the DW feat which would grant an extra attack, but also requires a different weapon.
How does that work with DW these days? the light property says: When you take the Attack action on your turn and attack with a Light weapon, you can make one extra attack as a Bonus Action later on the same turn. That extra attack must be made with a different Light weapon... if you attack twice with your shortsword on your action, you're clearly good to go to whack someone with the scimitar. If you were to choose mix shortsword and scimitar in the attack action (first swing shortsword, second swing scimitar) can you still make the light attack swing. it seems to me, that both conditions might be true, depending on how you read it.
- Your first swing was with the shortsword, therefore you attacked with a light weapon, and the scimitar is different light weapon than the one that activated the attack, therefore you can use the light property attack.
- You used the shortsword as part of the attack action, therefore it's not a different weapon and is not eligible for the light property attack.
