The real answer is whichever one you think wil be the most fun. Some races have a wisdom bonus, which is ideal, but any race can be perfectly functional and fun.
Of course, the big question is if you are using the optional race rules in Tasha’s. If so, you can choose any race and still get that wisdom bonus.
Mechanically there are still differences between races for example dwarf will give you proficiency in a couple of martial weapons (with Tasha's rules that is effectively choose any two martial weapons and RAW you can even get 4 if you are a mountain dwarf as you can swap out the armor proficienies you get as a cleric anyway for weapons). If you want ot have extra versatility with your cantrips you could go high elf (though bear in mind it would use int so mage hand might be better than fire bolt)

With Tasha's on the table, you have a lot of fun and flavorful options. Assuming you wish to stay a dwarf, Berronar Truesilver is really the only deity I can think of. And the matriarch of the Morndinsamman is a pretty solid choice. You'd be all about hearth, home, and hospitality.
But I do think the elven pantheon would be more interesting. Setting aside the more obvious choices like Corellon and Sehanine Moonbow, someone like Darahl Tilvenar from Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes could be fun. He's a minor elven deity of earth and fire magic, and one of his old nicknames from previous editions was "The Lord of Green Flame". A modified High Elf with green-flame blade could be fun, and I'd talk to your DM about allowing it with Wisdom instead of the usual Intelligence. But that's a melee build, so maybe the Forge Domain would be a better fit thematically than Light.
Alternatively, you can pick a cantrip that doesn't care about a spellcasting ability and just reflavor all of the Light Domain's fire spells as being green.
Dude! Light cleric rocks! I'm playing a prot aasimar light cleric in our current campaign and it's awesome.
But if I had to choose between hill dwarf or wood elf, I'd probably go with hill dwarf. You get that one extra hit point per level, and I'm personally just really paranoid about poison.
I mean, unless you wanna take a peek at aasimar. Just sayin'.
I am preparing to make a light cleric for our upcoming campaign of the curse of Strahd.
I was wondering what do you think is the best race to work with a light cleric build? I can't decide between hill dwarf or wood elf.
I don't know how our entire party will look like but it will probably feature a fighter and sorcerer (meta magic). Our 4th player hasn't chosen yet.
Thanks for the help!
Edit: My brain mixed race with class woops
The general answer, post-Tasha's, is mountain dwarf or half-elf, since they get a fourth stat point. In this case, I would say Mountain Dwarf, all the way. Don't forget to convert your two extra simple weapon proficiencies from being a Dwarf to tools and your two armor proficiencies from being a Mountain Dwarf to martial weapons, so your race should generate 3 tool proficiencies and 4 martial weapon proficiencies for you. Since your Dex will almost certainly be higher than your Str (if you're using point buy, W17/Co17/D14/S10 is pretty solid), grab Rapier, Whip, Scimitar, and Shortsword.

I think you mean race, not class. 😀

Indeed! Woops made a brain fart there.
I had no idea that Tasha worked like that. Just checked with the DM and he’s okay with tasha’s rules which opens up so many possibilities.
thank you for the info!
