I'm planning to have my Aasimar Variant Life Cleric throw 3 levels at Blood Hunter at some point after level 6. Order of Ghostslayer gives the Radiant Rite, which between the Rite itself and the Aasimar's resistance to Radiant damage means the cost of the Rite to me would be 1/4. After Cleric 6, to get the heals to self when I heal someone else. Blood Hunter also lets me use Martial Weapons, so I can swap out my Mace for a Warhammer or Warpick. I've also got Herbalism from my background, which can pair nicely with the Blood Hunter's Alchemist's Tools for crafting shenanigans.
Warlock and cleric seems An odd mix. I assume you mean explain Hexblade? A Hexblade Death Cleric sounds pretty dark and awesome. A GOOlock and knowledge cleric could be pretty cool also.
Thematically a Celestial-lock Makes the most sense. It would be pretty easy to justify this build with your backstory.

An Aasimar Life Cleric that is willing to go to dark extremes to vanquish wicked beasts...Weird but pretty cool!

It's the Variant one from the DMG, rather than the standard set from Volo's. So I don't have the angel speaking to me in my dreams, and I don't have the Paladin-esque healing hands thing or wing abilities. I'm playing it off as the unintended consequences of an actual, divine intention Aasimar going "off mission" and having a love affair with a human, resulting in effectively a half-Aasimar. The Life deity that is currently showing me favor may not be the same one that ordained my parent's creation -- my character doesn't actually know, they learned their Clerical knowledge on the road, traveling from Temple to Temple trying to identify them.
A 1 level dip for a forge cleric is really good for rocking heavy armor, especially when done on a warlock or a bard or something similar. It lets you fill out your gish fantasies much more reliably as a tank frontline caster. 1 level dip forge cleric and a pact warlock is fantastic, especially if you choose invocations that add to your bulk or feats ( if you can afford them). You might get something itito work with wizard, but it is potentially mad and a huge balancing act.
I considered going Celestial or Hexblade Warlock for 2 levels instead of Wizard reasoning that my Patron could be a divine Herald or a powerful servant of my domain deity. I love the front-loaded warlock but I prefer to keep full progression with my spell slots. Our group does a lot of one-shots and longer adventures broken up over several days, so the short-rest warlock doesn’t really work well in this style of play.
With only a 14 INT, I focus my Wizard spells on those without attack rolls or savings throws (shield, absorb elements, sleep) and utility spells that I can cast as rituals (identify, comprehend language, unseen servant).
Although, now I kind of want to play a Forge Cleric/War Wizard!
Actually I decided to make one last night and went with an abjuration wizard/forge cleric haha. War wizard will have slightly better melee though and a couple other cool things instead of the shield. I just wanted a pure tank :3
I had a concept for an Envoy class Warforged with integrated Blacksmith's Tools that I've been toying with to pull out and use. The Integrated Tools from Envoy Class, I had envisioned as basically allowing him to deploy like a Terran Siege Tank to transform himself, literally, into a living forge. My hang-up has been the choice of class. I've been looking at the Forge Domain Cleric, and it seems interesting, but I was hoping to avoid a class dependent on Long Rests to really make the most use out of the Warforged's ability to not gain Exhaustion from lack of Rest. That would free up more time to actually craft (since it takes forever and a day...).
One more good one I forgot to mention. A death cleric gives some oomph to necromancy cantrips with a level 1 dip which is appreciated, but even better is that it gives you access to martial weapons which can be quite powerful if you do something like a blade or valor bard or some other builds.
Edit: just sword bards not valor bards. I didn't realize valor bards already got martial proficiency
I'm playing a level 2 fighter in TOA right now. With the Heavy Armor Mastery feat (Vhuman), he's been able to absorb a lot of damage for the party. I'm considering going into life cleric to increase his staying power and specializing as the party tank. Assuming a level 11 completion, Ek 6/Life Cleric 4 looks really tasty.
Are you certain that blood Hunter cost can be mitigated?
Several experienced forum goers have explained it this way, so I can only assume that it does. From examining the wording of the rules themselves, with previous experience with Magic: the Gathering rules wording, it should work that way. The wording of Crimson Rite never refers to it as a cost, or that the user must pay that health. It is just referred to as "damage", which would be mitigated by Resistance to the damage type.
Fighter multiclassing as a cleric is fine, but in most cases the Fighting Initiate feat might be enough. Clerics don't benefit that much from multiclassing. They are the best for a 1-level dip, but I feel like you don't gain very much from dipping into another class as a cleric.

I’m playing an Arcana Cleric 4/Divination Wizard 2. This is a great combo if you don’t mind being a little MAD.
What other 1-3 level dips have you tried?
A similarly MAD dip that can work is warlock.
Fighter is probably another good option.
