So, I'm building a cleric for a new campaign who is a princess in-disguise, believed to be dead, trying to retake her kingdom (think Ashe from Final Fantasy XII). I chose this concept because I love intrigue, and the moral ambiguity of the Trickery Cleric fits well with my main "theme" for her, where I want her arc to go.
However, I'm also addicted to playing face characters, and if anyone is going to be the face of the party, it's the princess of the campaign's main kingdom, the heir to the throne before the kingdom was invaded. I know it's not a traditional face class, but I chose cleric because it makes sense with the setting, and I chose Trickery Cleric because I love brainstorming uses for Invoke Duplicity, especially with a face character (as a princess, the ability to create a decoy alone seemed invaluable).
I'm concerned that this character concept will be too MAD or otherwise non-functional, though. Other classes are better faces, but then I don't get to play with the Trickery mechanics, and I get less "juice" out of the moral ambiguity angle.
Stat-wise it looks fine for a low level character. You might want to consider getting Magic Initiate or a level of Bard to get access to the Silent Image spell and the Message cantrip if this is a game with a lot of political intrigue.

Thoughts? Here's my basics:
Thanks!
The "princess-in-disguise" wants to be the face of the group?
Point taken. Still, taking an entire country back isn’t something one does alone. She’ll need to make lots of friends first
