Here's a thought: What if you could alter the Sun Soul Monk to be a Moon Soul Monk? Aesthetically, the monk would yield silver flashes of light instead of gold, "Sun" would be replaced with "Moon" in class features, and "Searing" would be replaced with "Freezing" in class features. Functionally, the only difference is that class features that deal fire damage would instead deal either cold or radiant damage.
It's essentially wanting to play a different color of Sun Soul Monk so I don't see why not, if your DM allows it. You could either substitute Burning Hands for the 6th level feature for a more ice themed spell like Ice Knife, or simply reflavor and change the damage type of Burning Hands to something like Freezing Hands or the like.
I think the most interesting challenge would be reflavoring the 17th level ability. Having you emit a cool, silver light but otherwise have everything be the same is certainly the easy route, but I could see a situation where you emit an aura that rather than emitting light...absorbs surrounding light since you're the frozen opposite of the sun. Maybe instead of taking damage when they hit you with a reaction, just merely standing near you causes creatures to take that damage instead since you emit otherworldly bonechilling cold. I think that sounds kind of neat.
If all of that is too much though, just reflavoring and changing damage types is perfectly fine in most cases. You're for all intents and purpose playing a Sun Soul Monk...except cold.
Thanks for the reply. The original idea was a Snow Leopard Tabaxi Monk, and I figured a Sun Soul Monk with silver colors might be a (pun intended) cool way of doing it.
In the Forgotten Realms Sun Soul Monks worship the 3 gods Lathander, Sune and Selûne. Lethander is a sun god (god of the dawn if I remember right) and Selune is the goddess of the moon. I think it fits story wise if a Selune worshiping Order of the Sun Soul had more moon inspired abilities. Swapping damage types on the abilities isn't really going to change much for the character so I think you are fine. Go for it.

Note that the druidic spell moonbeam does radiant damage, so there is "precedent" that the sun doesn't have a monopoly on radiance.
This sounds like a great idea. Go for it! :)
