I guess I meant tough not strong. I want him to be an in your face fighter, don’t care too much for being good with bow just proficient in a pinch. But with a decent tracking and investigation score. Like + 2-3 decent not +8 super wise tracker. Like a Witcher but remove the magic.
If your dm is willing to work with you or you plan it smart, it is possible to have decent investigation and wisdom via favored enemy and favored foe.
You can also build really good str rangers if you go beastmaster for tracking(alot of times getting 3 or 4 rolls to succeed) a companion can take some of the stat load off of a build but you'd want thrown weapons over a crossbow.
Also with crossbows watch out for extra attack as you would want the feat to make it work.
Still sfpanzer gave good advice. There's lots of ways to build but sometimes straight forward is best.
So I’m not sure what class or multi-class I should do but I want to make a bounty hunter that’s strong and gruff, not stealthy and quick.
they would be heavy armor or scale but not leather. Decent with a crossbow but better with sword, mace or longsword.
melee fighter mostly, range would the bows. Not looking to do many attack spells.
Then I’d want them good with tracking a target, survival checks.
they’d focus on getting paid to kill bandits and evil creatures. So I might want the hunters favored enemy buff.
would this be a ranger/fighter? They won’t be religious and they won’t be lawful.

Thank you
