I probably nitpick and scrutinize too much
The 2014 PHB literally had a drow rogue as the main image for the class, so points in that direction.
Tabaxi are also just a less well-known species in general, and aren't one of the core races in either PHB
Dhampire. Drow is stiff competition, but Dhmpire gets a competitive edge lord by having daddy/mommy issues on top of being emo.
