Correct, that verbiage was not in TCoE. I like to think that my original 2020 post led to that change in the 2024 rule book :)
Oh, ok! As the few last messages were posted but a few days ago, I did not realize a necromancer sneakily ressurected this thread.
Not a problem anymore. It's been corrected/clarified in the new PHB.
Not completely. Other subclasses do have the ability to grant an attack to other characters and the Soulknife still leaves those up n the air. I know my group would in all probability apply it to all cases as that seems to be the intent of closing the biggest gap in the rules, but one person I used to game with would most certainly not (he loved to play "Gotcha!" whenever he could, which is why most of the gamers I know don't play in his games).
Can you provide an example?
One example might be the Voice of Authority feature from Order Domain Cleric: "You can invoke the power of law to embolden an ally to attack. If you cast a spell with a spell slot of 1st level or higher and target an ally with the spell, that ally can use their reaction immediately after the spell to make one weapon attack against a creature of your choice that you can see."
Even with the updated language in the 2024 PHB it seems the Soulknife wouldn't be able to use Psychic Blades for this attack (RAW).
