So the basic idea is to pattern off of the divine soul sorcerer but it gets the bard's spell list instead of cleric list. The otherworldly wings are always dragonfly, instead of protection from good and evil, they get faerie fire as a free known spell. At first level they'd get fey presence and at 6th level they'd get misty escape from archfey warlock instead of favored by the gods and empowered healing. Level 18, is timeless body from druid.
Does that seem balanced to you? Would you allow it in a game you were DMing?
Ok... I think the bard spell list is closer to fey than anything else but druid is a close second.... would it be unbalanced to make a custom fey spell list that plucks appropriate spells from bard and druid spell lists considering that bards get magical secrets so they get to choose from all spell lists.
But.... the idea/question is if you were making a fey spell list from scratch, what would be on it?
Obviously faerie fire, greater invisibility, then enchantment/illusion/nature/teleportation/safe haven stuff.
You know what? Yeah Thornwhip and Goodberry would be nice but the only 2 Druid spells a Fey Soul Sorcerer absolutely needs are 3rd level Summon Fey and 6th level Conjure Fey, otherwise the bard spell list is fine.
Ok this is my first take on the Fey Soul Sorcerer it is a minor tweak away from Divine Soul, with the bard spell list instead of cleric spell list, the first and 6th level sub class features from the archfey warlock and the 18th level feature being a permutation of the 18th level druid class feature
I've been thinking of another variant (a much greater departure) that gets the Archfey warlock spell list... and is essentially a hybrid sorcerer/archfey warlock with delayed warlock progression where you are effectively your own patron and the level 20 sorcerer ability is replaced by Archfey where you can be the Archfey patron for warlock's (there's a bit more to it than that). Misty Escape plus a pact boon, would replace the 10th level sorcerer meta magic and at 6th level you would get 2 eldritch invocations. I'm thinking of granting eldritch blast as a free cantrip at level 1 in addition to faerie fire. But i'm worired that this version might be overpowered.
Level 1 is a bit much. This sorcerer's MAIN 1st level ability is the ablity to access the bard spell list. Adding a Warlock's level 1 is too much to add on. Generally Warlocks have better features at level 1 compared to Sorcerers. This is because the Warlock needs to make up for their lack of spell slots over their career. With a VERY powerful ability already they need something much weaker.
I have less of an issue with the level 6 feature. While maybe a little strong its not too strong.
Level 14 is as you said a feature already so nothing really to add here. It works fine.
Level 18 is way too weak for a capstone. I really like Timeless body but it is functionally a ribbon as it offers no mechanical benefit. Inherent focus is not very strong, in most cases a 18th level sorcerer will have a staff or other focus so this is really not that valuable for high level play.
Thank you for the feedback, the divine soul gets favored by the gods, and I was looking for something comparable. I was thinking Archfey warlock was underpowered compared other warlocks (e.g. hexblade, genie) and that eldritch blast/agonizing blast (other eldritch invocations were) what made up for warlocks getting fewer spell slot. What if fey presence was limited to proficiency bonus times per long rest instead of once per short rest? So at low levels that's one use per day.
I will try to power up the 18th level ability... I was trying to make sure this was NOT overpowered and I guess I was too conservative.
I love the concept of a sorcerer imbued somehow with the the fey or the feywild, but I would caution against modeling a new subclass after another if you want to make something fun and unique. Use the other subclasses as a guide and from there come up with your own unique class abilities, for expended spells go with druid, bard and sorcerer spell lists and restrict them to enchantment and illusion schools. I echo the other persons critiques, its not terrible but its feel flat and like a re-tread. I think you'd be better served trying to create new unique subclass abilities.
I'm trying to make a class that looks like it could eventually (sometime after level 20) become a patron of the Archfey warlock, which means having many of the abilities of the Archfey warlock so that they could grant the use of those abilities to the Archfey warlock.
I've got another take on this that I call the Archfey soul sorcerer that could become a warlock patron at level 18 but dnd beyond won't let me post it (I think because of spell list)
Ok I was thinking of a largish delta away from the current level 6 and 18 abilities.
The level 18 Archfey is effectively they become immortal (not that can't be killed but that they don't age, immune to magical aging, and non-magical diseases) as an immortal fey their ability scores are capped at 30 instead of 20, they can exceed level 20 by taking levels in another class, if they have warlock levels they become their own patron (converting to an Archfey warlock if they had another patron previously) and they can be patrons to warlock of lower warlock level than their warlock level.

I've tried to take the comments into account and made the new level 18 ability Archfey more powerful
