I was considering playing a Sorcerer / Warlock build in a campaign with friends starting at lvl 10, where we each started with a few minor uncommon magic items.
I was going to build a Divine Soul Sorcerer + Hexblade Warlock, because the Divine Soul sorcerer would buff my eldritch blasts with quickened spell and spirit shroud, if I run out of quickened blasts I could start using 2nd level spiritual weapon to make attacks with my bonus action, and Hex + Eldritch blast with agonizing blast and repelling blast from my warlock. Not every part of it needed to come together in every battle, for instance the spirit shroud is optional and expensive, but it seemed to all work together, and divine soul sorcerer also gave me lots of utility spells from cleric. The hexblade warlock also provided medium armor, and this seemed like a very common build.
But I don't think I'm getting much out of the hexblade warlock, especially the third level (I was considering pact of the chain or tome). I see that if I dropped my warlock to 2, I could use the extra level for a single level in Life cleric. This would give me shield proficiency, heavy armor proficiency (I can't wear normal plate armor, but if I can find the minor uncommon magic item "mithral plate", then I have massive heavy armor that I can wear without any str requirements), and the disciple of life ability gives +4 to my prayer of healing for each of 6 people healed, so up to +24 total points of healing added for a lvl 2 spell. And of course I also get minor cantrips and a few spells for your 1 level dip into cleric, and it builds into my sorcerer spell slots.
Also, assuming I have that 1 level in cleric, I would no longer need hexblade as the warlock subclass, so I could take "The Fiend" which provides a better lvl 1 bonus (temporary hitpoints if I kill a creature)
Full character sheet I was thinking of with spells, etc posted here: https://ddb.ac/characters/40258306/yFVnaT Any feedback welcome on how he could be built better. (The cleric dip isnt worth it, I should try to get a certain minor item that would benefit me a lot, important spell I am missing, attributes assigned poorly, or if this character is just hugely underpowered compared to a single class character, I appreciate all the flame you guys can give this character so I know how I can build him to be more powerful)
No will do that. Good point. But also, the cleric still gives 4 to any of my healing, heavy armor and shields. Is there another class/subclass you'd recommend for me to get my armor to complete this build, just stick with light armor, or use hexblade warlock to get medium armor/shields?
But also, even without prayer of healing, I could use mass healing word instead to heal 6 people (for 1d4) as a bonus action, and add 5 hps onto each of those. Also, once I get lvl 7 spells regenerate https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Regenerate#content , the Life cleric ability would massively boost the healing they get every turn, right?
Essentially the boost from Life cleric into my healing abilities are only significant with group or over-time healing spells, I think.

Have you talked with the DM and the party about how to use Prayer of Healing? It's a rather difficult spell to use.
