Eldritch blast, as a unique warlock spell should scale with warlock level. That would solve 90% of the problems with warlock dipping. The other 10% is fixed by putting hexblade's features into pact of the blade.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

Agreed on the warlock dipping. Eldritch powers are one of the few things that make warlocks really badass and unique.
How do you figure that moving a patron into a pact boon features solves a problem? I'm not disagreeing, just trying to understand the logic

The actual "patron" in the Hexblade text is honestly the weakest part about the subclass. It's some mysterious entity from the Shadowfell that manifests in this world in the form of sentient weapons? But YOUR pact weapon isn't necessarily one of those, especially not the one they use an example(Blackrazor is OP AF for a low-level character, and even for higher-level ones to be honest). I'm with crzyhawk, giving Pact Of The Blade the ability to wear Medium Armor and make pact weapon attacks with Charisma would make Bladelocks much more viable for all patron types without having to burn feats or dip a level into something like Fighter or Paladin. Not sure what you would do with Hexblade's Curse since it's kinda stepping on the Hex spell as it is. Honestly I'd prefer the whole "curse" thing to be a Warlock feature rather than a spell competing for not only your precious few spell slots but your concentration as well. As for Eldritch Blast, I could see making it a Warlock feature rather than just a cantrip on the Warlock list that scales with character level, and grant additional beams at the appropriate Warlock level, like how a Fighter gets their additional attacks.

Because instead of making blade pact a solid choice for /all/ patrons, now you're pigeon-holed into hexblade. Blade pact kind of sucks for most patrons, unless you make very specific choices to mitigate those weaknesses (such as shite armor for a melee focused character) So, non hexblades are locked into two pact boons for the most part. Hexblade meanwhile becomes an /excellent/ dip for every char class who wants medium armor, martial weapons, shield, shield spell access and charisma on their melee weapon.
Basically, Hexblade takes away from /warlocks/ and gives to everyone other than the warlocks who actually needed the features.

Got you both, and good call. I just wanted to make sure I followed your logic. I play a Tomelock, so haven't really thought about Bladelock drawbacks. Thanks!
