Hi, Im playing a half-elf hexblade warlock, and rolled 20 for CHA(18+2 ) and 18 for DEX(17+1) and i really dont know if its better to go for two weapon fighting or duelist after multiclassing with the fighter.
I actually love both of them, but its hard at the moment of choosing which one is better.
And I was thinking on taking the Dual-Wielding feat so I could use nonlight weapons in each hand and the +1 bonus to AC is pretty good.
The main reason is that in order to use a dual weapon attack; you must use your bonus action.
Which could be better used for hexblade's curse or casting a spell etc.
Hexblade's can use medium armour and shields, duelist works with a shield
If you don't want to take improved pact weapon invocation or the war caster feat; you will need a free hand to cast spells. I think duelist with one weapon in a hand and a Warlock spellcasting focus in the other works best and frees up a feat and/or an invocation and you are not stuck with a second weapon in your hand that you can't even really use.
hex warrior lets you use your charisma modifier for 1 non two handed weapon, If you go pact of the blade, at 3rd level, you can use hex warrior with two handed weapons. I mention this just because great weapon fighting is an option you may not have thought viable. But the point is, charisma mod for one weapon only
You already have proficiency in Martial Weapons, Light and Medium Armor, and Shield from Hexblade. All it gives you is Second Wind and a Fighting Style, which are pretty small and reduce your overall spell/ability progression.
You didn't mention if you took Pact of the Blade, but if you did you can use a two handed weapon.

Is this explicitly stated somewhere? I was looking to make a bugbear Warlock/Ranger (Hexblade/Gloom Stalker= Pro Ambusher), but I wanted a Great weapon with 2d6 dmg to maximize output. When getting feedback, this idea was blocked by the Hex Warrior specifying a one-handed weapon. Improved Pact Weapon/Pact of the Blade allows any weapon to form, but does it still work with 2-h weapons?

The ending of Hex Warrior states "If you later gain the Pact of the Blade feature, this benefit extends to every pact weapon you conjure with that feature, no matter the weapon’s type." (quoted from Xanathar's)
:D Yay! Thank you for that clarification. It's a bit easier to work with a bugbear Hexblade/Gloomstalker I'm looking at, but it was originally a goblin and the other side of the debate was whether I could summon a Greatsword as a Small race (being a Heavy weapon).

Is Defensive Duelist a better path than multi-ing into Rogue Swashbuckler, and going with Rakish Audacity? My Hexblade is level 4, and wouldn't be "eligible" for a feat until level 8, or Hex 5/Rogue 3.
Quick side note: Feats/ASIs are based on class lvl, not character. So as a 5/3 you would still only have 1 feat/ASI unless your DM wanted to houserule otherwise (which I'm always in agreeance for lol).

My bad - Hex 5/Rogue4 would be (technically) the earliest I could grab a Feat, since I ASI'd at Hex 4.

Duelist for sure.

Jesus Saves!... Everyone else takes damage.
My question is why Multiclass Fighter?
You already have proficiency in Martial Weapons, Light and Medium Armor, and Shield from Hexblade.

You didn't mention if you took Pact of the Blade, but if you did you can use a two handed weapon.
Now that you mention it... I think a single class warlock, in this context, is a great way to go. I can't believe I didn't see it.
Jesus Saves!... Everyone else takes damage.
Thank you guys, youre right, now that you mención it, i think going with single class warlock is much better.
Thanks :D

When asked about this Jeremy Crawford also clarified this subject on his twitter: "When we wrote "every pact weapon" in Hex Warrior, we really meant every pact weapon." (LINK https://twitter.com/JeremyECrawford/status/928768275487399936)
