How do you interact with the Patron? Are you a willing "servant" or are you nagged by your patron or do they scar you?
How do NPCs and the rest of the party react to you being a warlock, the patron you're tied to, and the hoops you have to jump through with your pact (if any)?
A-lot of fun can be made by how you have to live with your pact and how the rest of the world feels about you and your patron.
think about how you want to progress. I recommend charisma as a highest score and playing your field control. warlocks are very versatile. jack of all trades master of none.
you will have to select what you want to specialize in and incorporate that into your patron then have fun.

1. Figure out what the other players' expectations and stereotypes are for warlocks.
2. Don't do that.

Don't let them know. It's not their business. Just be like a fighter in a BP, swinging your weapon and even using your second attack at level 5.
Just hide your magic until a clutch moment, then SURPRISE!
lol but eldritch knight can use magic... so he could just be a warrior if he wanted to do that...
