I played an Evoker in a 4-shot named Eddius Brocius
He is an investigator who is accidentally inhabited by a symbiotic being, who’s proficiency is arcana, and teaches Eddie magic in return for food, entertainment and deep down friendship and companionship.
This isn't for a PC per say, but more for an NPC in my newest campaign.
Jelicar the Jubilant is the resident arcane expert in the city of Matador. He is known for is jovial, jowly voice and exuberant demeanor.. Also he's an awakened gelatin dessert in a wizard hat. He speaks by vibrating his body at a frequency that mimics speech, and he learned magic from his "father", a travelling wizard's apprentice whos name was lost to time, even for Jelicar. Anyway yea, he sells a bunch of random magical junk, yea its a little sticky, what the heck do you want him to do about it?
The city of Matador ??? hahahahaha Killer = Matador...
I see here the typical Mexican side of life...........
I actually used a lot of spanish and pseudo-spanish names for the "empire" settlements in my homebrew setting. Basically all of their stuff is some variation of "Red", "Blood", "Kill" or some random violent act. They're... not very good people.

It's ok Ranger, you'll always be cool to me.. Unless druid gets another use for its wild shape charges.
My 11 year old Fire Genasi, Kindra, was just a homeless orphan with strange prophetic dreams. One day the dreams showed her stealing some guys backpack - and inside was a spare spellbook inside and she's never looked back. Turns out she has a knack for Divination.
11 years old ? Isn't that too young for adventuring ?

At that age and in some circumstances, some level of adventuring could have been a necessity. Sure, the kid might have also needed to have been some kind of prodigy or have been enabled in some other way (perhaps by something in parallel to the "strange prophetic dreams") but, other than that, it might work.
You come from a region where the use of magic is forbidden but found a type of book that might be incidentally of interest to a wizard. The former owner had of the book had used the spell programmed illusion to make the book to look like a book from that wizard's childhood. The use of the spell means that its "scripted performance can last up to 5 minutes" but you read for longer than 5 minutes after which the book's arcane writing appeared. Since then you've become an 11th or higher level wizard ready to join the campaign.
