I'm planning a lore bard/life cleric of apollo. Now, Apollo's symbol is a lyre, and the lyre happens to be a musical instrument that a bard can play. So could a lyre double as my bardic focus and my cleric focus?
Well, you need to realize that holy symbols come in various form's; Emblems like embroidered on cloths, an actual symbol mounted on a shield.. Here is where I'm thinking to ask dm; if.. as lyre is exactly what you say.. an emblem or holy symbol could be mounted or enlaid on it.

Kudos XD
Not base, no. Bards can use musical instruments as arcane foci, but clerics can use holy symbols as divine foci, and holy symbol is a defined set of items in the PHB, not an abstract concept. But you could certainly ask your GM to let you acquire a holy instrument, and even if your GM says no, you could tie a holy symbol to your lyre with string or rope, and then touch the whole thing where you need to touch it when you cast.
I'd allow it, keeping in mind any potential restrictions on how many hands you're using. That is, if you have a lyre in one hand and a weapon in the other, you don't have a free hand for somatic components for spells. You could try and use Warcaster, but by RAW, it only allows you to have your hands full with weapons or a shield, so you'd need your DM to houserule to allow for the lyre if you wanted to try and use the feat to get past the somatic component issue.

Why would Kyre actually wield the instrument?
War Caster has an issue with M component spells in general, but there's just no reason to hold the instrument in combat. The only question at hand is whether Kyre can get away with carrying only one item in their inventory to cover both concerns, or whether they have to carry two.
Because you have to have a hand free to hold your spell casting focus. So weapon and lyre but no shield, or lyre and shield with no weapon, but no way to weapon, lyre and shield.
