so long story short I’m not able to keep my lv 6 Draconic sorcerer for our Nentir vale campaign as we need a full healer and the Dm wont let the Druid and cleric switch characters unless someone plays a full healer but new characters start at lv 4 -_-
So I volunteered to give up my character to make a Cleric so they could play their new ones. I had intended to create a rogue next and so am a bit at a loss as far as how to make this character interesting. He’s a variant human PAM tempest Cleric with 14,8,14 10,18, 12.
Hes from the far north or the veil and currently the existing party hired him from salt marsh to be a merc for protection/have a sea priest.
Any ideas for character development/background would be much appreciated as I’m having a hard time investing in him.
Look at the human gods with the tempest domain and build from there, for instance are you a servant of a good or evil god, most human tempest gods are evil. If you follow this path Chaotic evil is the best Talos if your male, Umberlee if female (identify as). the ideas behind them usually follow that strength comes form conflict, your home town was weak, raiders came through and slaughtered your village, you were their slave and eventually (through Stockholm syndrome {and i know its not technically a syndrome}) joined them in fighting, they tried to raid a temple of said god and were decimated. then you were all revivified by the clerics they where given a chance, as agents of chaos, given the chance to serve their god or go back to being dead; you accepted the worship (unlike most of the people who captured you initially) and became an agent for said god.
For a good Human tempest cleric (or at least neutral) you could have been a sailor in a ship wreck (or a pirate who refused to kill innocents and forced to walk the plank) and you washed up on one of the hidden island Shrines to either Valkur or Istishia, where you were nursed back to health and taught the lore of said god during the long wait for the next supply shipment.
