Is there any connection between Erathis and this particular divine domain? I want to come up with a plausible reason why my grave cleric would worship the deity of civilization, without having to choose knowledge or life as a domain instead.
Bit of a long shot, but Erathis and Pelor are closely linked as "The King and Queen of Light". Given she focuses on civilisation and law, there are a couple of vague connections it could have to the grave domain.
Be a follower who came from being a city's gravekeeper. They lawfully respect the dead and wish for them to lay to rest in cemetaries, as Erathis would like
The end of life is the grave, and it is the end of nature and the wild. Given Erathis' antithesis is Melora (wilderness, nature, etc.) then it could be more about ensuring that nature takes its course and is quelled/laid to rest, allowing for civilisation to build on where it lays.
