I am sure this has been discussed already but I am late in the game...in regards to the almost awesome Death Cleric feature:
"You learn one necromancy cantrip from any spell list."
Since 2 of 3 Necromancy Cantrips are used by Cleric's already. I am guessing one would have to create a cantrip for this to be a big deal. I mean...my initial reaction was cool! Any spell list! Then I discovered there are exactly 3 Necrotic Cantrips. Only 2 deal damage. Am I missing something? I am excited to be able to use Toll the Dead on two targets or Chill touch. And being able to Spare the Dying on two allies instead of one is something, right?

basically, it’s saying even if you didn’t pick those cantrips to begin with. You now get to pick any of the 3 necromancy cantrips for free.
It's not amazing, but it's still useful, regardless of which you pick. Consider the possible choices for Cleric cantrips: Guidance is a must-have. Thaumaturgy opens up a lot of role playing options, and probably something you should take right away. That leaves you one additional cantrip at Level 1 for either Spare the Dying (very useful), Toll the Dead (strongest damage cantrip in the game, especially with Reaper), Word of Radiance (nice AoE damage), or Light (generally useful).
Taking Toll the Dead or Spare the Dying reduces the downside of whatever you choose. Alternatively, if you take Chill Touch, you're getting a ranged spell attack cantrip which no cleric other than Arcana and Nature domain have access to.

It is just the wording. That you take any Necrotic Cantrip from any spell list, but there is only one other...Chill Touch. Just thought it was funny.
Also worth noting is that the class feature is future-proof. if any other Necromancy cantrip is introduced in the future, it goes on the list too.
