When you cast Bless, does the benefit apply to *one* attack roll or saving throw, or does it apply to *every* attack roll or saving throw during the duration?
Every attack roll or saving throw for the designated creatures for the duration of the spells concentration as far as I understand. A spell usually specifies of its a one shot effect, like Guidance or Guiding Bolt
that's great! i was a little unclear whether it worked like Guidance, but i guess Guidance specifies "one ability check" and Bless says "whenever" - just wanted to make clear.

No worries! Spells are a complicated set of rules. Still, it's a fantastic spell, hope you get a lot of use from it
Exactly.... screw the spells. Let's use knives to attack and a wooden bucket to cover our head.
My Ready-to-rock&roll chars:
Dertinus Tristany // Amilcar Barca // Vicenç Sacrarius // Oriol Deulofeu // Grovtuk
Uncanny, that's exactly how I played my Paladin!
Then your Pally is worthed a try. on the Arena trial.

If you do the math, bless usually does more damage than solo buffing like Hunter's Mark. Not missing is the best way to do damage.
Stacking the bonus to saving throws makes concentration checks awesome.
with Bless and Guidance the cleric is going to be the most popular person on the team, except with the DM!
Do it with a peace cleric to stack it on top of emboldening bond and you'll be even more popular!
