Hmm. I had to go check some of the more recent releases, since I very frequently use Mythic Odysseys of Theros and have noticed the artist credits associated with the artwork in that release specifically. But you're right, it seems to not be present in other recent releases. D&D Beyond strives to accurately represent what is physically present in the books. I'll pass that feedback along.
The inline artists credits are something that I believe is only present in the Magic the Gathering books (Guildmasters Guide to Ravnica and Mythic Odysseys of Theros). This is due to them using art from cards which is slightly different from how art is done for non-MtG books

nope it’s in Candlekeep and VRGtR as well. For sure.
Is there a way to see what artist did pieces in the books?
Physical books now credit the artists in the margins of the pages their art is on. Is there a way to view that on dndbeyond?
