I hope this isn't a duplicate but I couldn't find this on my search.
I have a Dwarven ranger, level 5, Str 20, dual wielding two plus one weapons (both light). According to everything that I know about the rules this should result in a +9 to hit. +5 from strength, +1 from the weapons themselves, and +3 from his proficiency bonus. His unarmed strike shows up with the "correct" to hit bonus. His ranged weapon shows up with the "correct" to hit bonus. Whenever I put even a stock non-magical melee weapon in his hands they end up with a mysterious (to me) additional +1 to hit that I do NOT understand.
I tried everything I could think of doing to make sure that I hadn't mucked things up somehow. I even took the character back down to level one, altered his strength to 10 to eliminate any bonuses. Nothing I did or could think of doing seemed to make any difference.

Anybody else having this issue?
Please, post here the URL of your character sheet, so we can give a look.
Thank you SO much. If you can figure out what I'm doing wrong I'd very much appreciate it.

Your Handaxe of speed seems to give an additional +1 to attacks roll.
Aha!! So when I made the home brew item I mucked things up. I just un-attuned the item and everything now seems kosher.
I was SURE it was something I'd done but I couldn't figure out what it was.
THANK YOU FILCAT!!!
Now I have to see how I screwed up the homebrew item creation.
