With the new container system it opens up a lot of different ways to use it, from having a herb pouch, gem pouch or similar, to having a wagon which eventually could have a shared inventory function for the whole party and the ability for the DM to share containers with the players opens up easier way to share the loot to the players in a quick way, while developing features like the on/off function would work as a great way to handle magic item stores as an example, just having the items that area actually there be there for the players to look at... Now some people will use this more than others but the system is great and adds a lot of options.
One thing that is also important for a lot of people, but which is handled at the moment pretty bad on the character sheet is notes. While you do have small areas for this, now with the container system I suggest that instead of those small boxes we get a similar space like the inventory, where the "Organizations", "Allies" and "Enemies" as they are now would work as containers work now. Instead of the small box for text, you could add a "New Ally" item, which you then customize, rename it to Alara the Huntress, write the notes "Helped us find the path through the Black forest, near Bryton". Being able to just see the name, with minor notes on them that you can also click for more information (like items) makes it much easier to handle and get a good overview of the people you have written there.
Preferably this should be made with Custom containers as well, so you could make your own. This would let you make a "Neverwinter" - container, where you could add different allies, enemies and npc's, even the names of stores and other establishments!
"The City of Neverwinter" The black swan - Inn Mylos merchantiles - General goods Mylos Bartington - Owner of Mylos merchantiles, the general goods store in the lake district. Owes us a favor after we helped him with the bandits. ... And so on
This would make the notes area much easier to use, as it is now it works for a general idea of things but not any more specific notes because it all becomes a bit cluttered unless you spend a lot of time trying to fix it. Using it as containers would make it quick and easy to use and change.
In addition with the coming updates to the container system, this would also let the DM share different npc's and similar. You can prepare certain npc's or establishments and share them with the players when appropriate. The adventure starts in a small village? Share the "Village of Krell" container, with a few pre-made establishement like "The golden goat inn", "The blacksmith - Grumpy old woman with scars all over her body", "The village elder - a middle aged half orc named Brogan" and so on, a good way to give the players an overview of the place. Later they might get a good contact there which the DM shares when that happens.
I believe this is a really important feature to add, and one that wouldn't be very hard to implement since the container system is already in use. As it is, the notes section is lacking and I've tried out different ways to keep my notes but while they work, using a feature like this on the character sheet would be better in so many ways.
Thanks for a great site!
