The DM for your game should only grant you that Advantage when SIGHT is a determining factor of success for the Wisdom (Perception) check.
Other Senses do apply to Perception, Passive or Active, but the Robe of Eyes would not influence these checks.
Example:
If your party is sneaking down a hallway, you come to a door, the DM rolls or calls for Passive Perception checks to see if the party HEARS something behind the door. Your Robe of Eyes would NOT grant you Advantage in this case.
When I have Robe of Eyes attuned to my character, I get a +5 to Passive Perception based on sight.
Is the PP on the character sheet just defaulting to all senses? If so, then it makes sense that it'll stay at the lower PP.
If not, shouldn't the PP update to add the +5 while attuned to the robe of eyes?
Perception, as defined in the PHB, is, at least, based on hearing and sight.
Okay. Then I'll have to keep the values separate when giving them to the DM.
@darkwonders, first off, the Robe of Eyes give you Advantage, not a +5, on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

I hope that helps!

Makes sense. So it'd be up to my DM's discretion if I get to use the higher or lower of my PP based on the circumstance.
Sorry I wasn't clear on the Robe of Eyes ability.
The advantage on Perception gives me +5 to PP if it's based on sight.
