If you have a horse, the weight for the equipment for that horse should be added to the encumbrance for the horse, not the character.
I'm not carrying the saddle, saddle bags, and feed for the horse. The horse is carrying it.
So if you have a mount, you should be able to attribute some of the gear to being carried by the mount.
Does anybody have a solution to this?
I have a pony to carry things but they are counting towards my encumbrance. Is there a workaround to get items off the encumbrance part of the character sheet and onto a pack animal / wagon / etc?
Ah, found it: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/d-d-beyond-feedback/61457-pack-animals-such-as-donkeys-or-mules-not
