When creating a homebrew magic item that has a spell linked to it, we can add "details" aka Restrictions in the item builder (add spell > details). These details/restrictions do not appear anywhere when the spell is viewed on the character sheet.
For example, I have a created a hat that allows the wear to cast *alter self*, but only to change appearance, not gain natural weapons or aquatic adaptation. This is noted in the "details" of the spell in the item builder, but this note doesn't show up on the character sheet when viewing the spell in the sidebar (as it probably should).
Details are just designed so that the devolopers can remember the restrictions for things when they were making offical content, if you have details for an effect, it should be in the description anyway.
copying and pasting this issue from 3 years ago because its still the case. https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/d-d-beyond-feedback/22403-spell-restrictions
