The code for such lists is already on the site, you have dates under each item. It cannot be that hard to to just put two small arrows, once sends us to the newest items, one to the oldest.
They should just let us choose our default sorting order.
The current default, alphanumeric sorting by title, "¡$ α $Σ\/\/Σ╔ ○Ñ ƒ¡╔Σ‼ due to all the manipulation it allows (Really, it's not allowed. I spent a couple years trying to mop the sewer, but eventually the workload made the mods sad, so I stopped bothering.)
Up and Down voting is almost as easy to manipulate.
Sorting by author would just repeat the problem with alphanumeric sorting by title, but add a flood of username change requests as everyone struggles to be listed first, or to get a name that could be confused with a more popular one.
Sorting by post date would encourage an even greater flood of low-effort dross. You could choose that as your sorting if you like, but iy would be a terrible default.
ADDS is the most true measure of quality we have. Most people don't like their homebrew collection cluttered with junk, so an entry having a lot of adds means something.
But in the end, letting us set our own default sorting would work for everyone. it should be possible to make a browser extension to do it, and to otherwise improve the search and filtering systems. I can't write one, but similar things exist.
I would also like the ability to take down shared items and truly delete old iterations. The homebrew tools are a bodge, and thus require experimentation. We should be allowed to get rid of the stuff that didn't work. When someone adds another user's entry to their collection, they should get a copy of it so eternal links to the original are unnecessary. As a bonus, true deletion would save some storage space.
