I can’t save my bookmarked stuff in a new folder for some reason. This is the latest iPad and when I open the menu to make a new folder nothing is there and it won’t let me do anything. Would be super helpful if this could be fixed. :)
In the bookmarks area, you can select a folder to place bookmarked items into. It works great on my phone. Say you make a cleric, you can put all bookmarked cleric spells into a folder named "Cleric". But this feature doesn't seem to work on my ipad, it brings up the selection of folders but it's blank.
No worries. I bought the PHB through this site for use on the app so it’s a bit annoying not to have full functionality. Especially when switching between apps, it often reloads the PHB instead of saving my place as well.
I have now added 3 more books to my collection and being able to bookmark is essential to me as my iPad is now my main source for material! Please if someone knows how I can direct this to the right people to be fixed I'd really appreciate it!
Is there another way to escalate this issue? I’m getting pretty serious with the game and having a non working feature to organize the tons of bookmarks I’m accumulating is very frustrating, especially since my app is my source for content, and I’ve now spent money on several books. Very disappointing.
I submitted a support ticket a while back, they did respond saying it will be looked into, but I agree. Seems things take a long time to get fixed and it’s frustrating when you’ve spent the money already!
Especially when it's with books you bought on THEIR application...I would have suggested them not add the option if the features weren't working. Or at least call it a beta or something...
So I'd like to hear about any updates to this? I haven't been able to use the app because of this. With all the content there is, bookmarking and organizing said bookmarks is a basic and essential function. Trying to DM and look up things at the table has become too time consuming and frustrating. I would like to know this is at least being looked at.
My frustration comes from being sold on using this platform through various advertisement channels on how great it is, only to discover after spending money that one of the most important functions doesn't work. After posting here and submitting feedback, I guess I am one of a few with this problem as it doesn't seem very important.. I know I won't be getting money back so the only option at this point is to express how I feel about it here. I am SO disappointed that I have been playing D&D for the past 6 months without the ability to properly use the content I paid for. I opted for this over the physical books, now I feel that I am just going to have to go spend even more on the books and abandon the app altogether.
Could this issue be related to the manifest version of the app? I have installed the app on 3 devices (one iPhone and 2 iPads). Only on one of the iPads I cannot create folders for bookmarks. The manifest version of the app on this device is v25. On the iPhone and the other iPad, where this function works as intended, the manifest version is v27. The app version is v1.1.17.0 on all devices.
What manifest version do you guys have? (go to My Account > About to find out)
Yea my apps version is also v1.1.17.0. I can MAKE the bookmark, but when I try to "assign" them to a folder the app just immediately crashes.
This is mostly in the Lost Mines of Phandelver, which D&D Beyond's version for that is v11. I don't know if that means that they don't have the features of others? Not sure. I think that's just the rendition of that book ON D&D Beyond.
Interesting, I'm also experiencing this problem only on my newer device... Just tried to create a folder out of a search from the CURSE of STRAHD , and I cannot.
I realized though, that I can switch between „None“ and „New Folder“ by swiping on the white part of the screen, there where on the other devices (those on which the app works properly) the selection of the folder can be done (example). If I select „New Folder“, the keyboard won't pop up. Not being able to name the new folder, I cannot create it (the save option on the top right is greyed out, as shown here).
I submitted a support ticket and have been fighting to get heard about this issue since Nov last year. My iPad is the latest version of the Air and up to date.

What folders are you talking about? DDB doesn't have any native folder support AFAIK for any features

Ah, I thought you were talking about the site, my mistake. Sorry

I’m finding I can’t create or choose bookmark folders on my iPad.

I’d like to bump this thread. Still can’t use the “book mark folder” feature. I would love the way to organize this information to be fixed!

I just looked here as I have the problem too. So I assume it’s the same with everyone on all devices?
this needs to be fixed ASAP!! I just bought the legendary bundle! I will submit a support ticket.
thanks

i checked your suggestion on my older ipads, and they are at v27, i assume the latest, and the bookmarks do work!
however, my new ipad is also at v27 and the bookmarks don't work. all of them have v1.1.17.0 of the app.
so im now guessing its to do with the ios compatibility?
sadly its my new ipad ios v13.3.1 i really need it to work on!
im shocked this has not been addressed by DnDBeyond as a priority!
thanks
Ok, so here is a big breakthrough that should help DndBeyond fix this folder save issue!
the CURSE of STRAHD works, it saves book mark folders! therefore this must be related to individual titles.
i bought the legendary package last night so i don't know how many other books work . but clearly its the titles that are broken not the app.
please dndbeyond now respond since I've already identified the bug
thanks

I am having that exact issue AngryMarten.
I got an email from support. They are aware of the issue on the iOS App and are working on a fix. :)
Btw, I got the email on April 1st (lol)
