I was hoping to find a place in the forums for multi-classing info because there are many questions surrounding the topic, and some of this info can be difficult to find. (such as stacking smites with sorcerer meta magic). So Is it possible to get a 'topic' pertaining to multi-classing?
True, but a place for discussion (subdivided by each character class, with redundancies linked together, if that makes sense) could conceivably be useful/add something of value to the forums, no?
Ah, I see. Yes I can see that being very useful. There is a forum dedicated to general rules, as well as a specific one for each class, but not for handling multiclassing. Placing a new topic under "Class Forums" could be useful!
Also, there are many specific clarifications provided by mike mearls, so for people who like to do complex multi-classes, it would be helpful to post questions about how certain features stack with other features. I would also love general discussion on how to achieve certain character concepts through multiclassing. (like an arcane glaive knight, one of my favorites)
Would this fall under general min/maxing, or do you feel there is a large enough niche that would only want to talk about multiclassing not related to min/maxing. I am in favor of either creating a dedicated topic to optimization, or make the current "tips and tricks" topic be more explicit that this is what it was Intended for.
I was thinking as a kind of a general multi-classing subforum, but also a min/maxing subforum. I enjoy both, but there is a clear difference. Multi-classing would be for questions pertaining to multiclassing, and for figuring out ways to achieve a certain character concept/role. While min/maxing is finding the best DPR, skillmonkey, etc. Having a place for both would be ideal.

There is currently an entry in the Compendium for multiclassing... not sure how complete it is but it outlines the basic rules.

I also imagine the numbers will be handled by the character builder if you choose to build a character with multiple classes.
